AMATERASU was created as the psychedelic doom / drone alter-ego of Alone In The Hollow Garden. "Hosting The Sun In This Body Of Light", one of the four Alone In The Hollow Garden albums released in MMXVI may be considered the seed of this new manifestation. Transformation & transmutation are the natural catalysts of evolution, so I openly welcome new musical ways of expression in my personal space, this being also the fuel that channeled the birth of AMATERASU.
Being almost exclusive based on guitars, bass & other string instruments like electric sitar or kantele, AMATERASU explores the same transcendental and mystical themes, already consecrated by the vast A.I.T.H.G. discography. The present sonic gamma is closer to doom / drone sonorities but still adorned with timeless synthesizer passages & ritual percussion instruments like shaman drums, gongs, bells, shakers & cymbals, along with the presence of a few self built string instruments.
I offer you this new vibrational incarnation as the Sun enters in the constellation of Aries, emphasizing the highly potent and magical times of the Spring Equinox.
All Love & Inner Light,

Wow. Now & then a "dark ambient" album comes by that instantly captures your imagination totally. For example: Lustmord's Black Stars, Time Machines' eponymous album, and this. There's something literally magical about this, when I listen to it, I feel like I've been placed under some kind of spell, it grabs & holds you from start to end. Maybe it's something about the melancholic, mysterious chordal modes, maybe how the music flows over you & envelopes you in its dark, warm embrace. Spooky! Daniel Ruben
